Braves Host Reds in 2020 Round One MLB Playoffs
The Atlanta Braves host the Cincinnati Reds in the first round of the playoffs beginning Wednesday Sept 30 at noon. This round is referred to as the Wild-Card series and features Atlanta as a #2 seed (winners of the East Division) and Cincinnati as a #7 seed, as a wild card entrant.
The series will be a best-of-three format, played on consecutive days. The DH rule will be in place, as will the new rule requiring a 3 batter minimum for each pitcher (unless the inning ends earlier)
Game one features Braves’ ace lefty Max Fried against righthander Trevor Bauer for the Reds. Atlanta has the better offense and bullpen while Cincinnati has stronger starting pitching. In a short series, anything can happen. The series may boil down to the ability of the Reds starters to go deep into the game.
