Butker's makes will be missed

Georgia Tech’s football fortunes for the 2017 season may hinge in large part on finding a replacement for graduating senior place-kicker Harrison Butker.

Tech’s Harrison Butker makes his final career score with a 4th quarter PAT in the TaxSlayer Bowl in a victory over Kentucky on New Year’s Eve 2016.

Butker finished his career as Tech’s all time leading scorer with 337 points, including 208 extra points and 43 field goals. He wrapped up his senior year in spectacular fashion, scoring 15 points in the Yellow Jackets 33-18 win over Kentucky. Included in that total were 4 field goals, including a 52 yarder. Butker was also proficient with kickoffs in his career, earning touchbacks on over 70% of his kicks.

Apart from his fine senior season, Butker will be long-remembered for his clutch game-tying 51-yard field goal against Georgia in 2014, gaining Tech the chance they needed to prevail over the Bulldogs in overtime in Athens.
